- A story about a great oak tree, which is home to numerous animals, and comes under assault from Tarrux, a ravenous beaver. Although he nightly gnaws away at their home, they don't want to believe the worst of him. The tree's residents try to placate Tarrux, but he proves a devious adversary, pretending to be doing no harm, while plotting the tree's downfall. Finally, facing the truth, the animals take the advice of the wise old owl that they must stand together. Joining forces, the squirrels, bees, raccoons, orioles and a groundhog, ambush Tarrux, and send him packing. They restore their damaged home with a plaque that reads, "This is our tree, we fought for it!"
